Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease causing irritated, scaly skin patches and is most common between the ages of 18 and 35. On brown, black and white skin the patches can look pink or red, and the scales white or silvery. On brown and black skin the patches can also look purple or dark brown, and the scales may look grey. It is most commonly found on the knees, elbows and scalp. There are several different types of Psoriasis, therefore it's important to get the right treatment for your condition. Treatment includes topical treatments, phototherapy, and systemic medications to reduce inflammation and slow cell growth. Managing triggers like stress and infections is crucial for controlling flare-ups.
