What Are Ovex Suspension and Tablets?

Ovex is an effective over-the-counter treatment for threadworm infections, a common parasitic infection in children and adults. It is available as both tablets and a liquid suspension, making it suitable for different ages and preferences. Ovex works by inhibiting the ability of worms to absorb sugar, which they need to survive. This leads to their eventual death and removal from the body through bowel movements. It is a licensed medication that can be used by children over two years of age and adults.

How Does Ovex Work?

Threadworms are tiny parasitic worms that infect the colon or rectum of human beings. Threadworms spread when a person comes in contact with their eggs and swallows them. They can be spread when an uninfected person comes in contact with surfaces such as toys, clothes or food that was touched by an infected person. These worms affect a person's digestive system, causing them to suffer symptoms such as weight loss, irritability, or itching around the anus. Ovex belongs to a class of drugs known as anthelmintic that work by preventing worms from absorbing the sugars that are vital for their survival, thus depleting the energy in the worms, causing them to eventually die. You should be able to notice the improvement after a few days of using Ovex when the worms begin to die.
