Dry Scalp
Dry Scalp occurs when the scalp does not have enough oil to keep the skin lubricated. This causes itching, flaking, and irritation, often due to environmental factors, shampoos, or skin conditions like eczema. It can also cause the hair to look dry. People with dry skin are more prone to dry scalp. A dry scalp often leads to the shedding of small, white flakes, which can be mistaken for dandruff, though dandruff is usually associated with an oily scalp and larger, yellowish flakes. Staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet rich in essential fatty acids can also help keep the scalp moisturised. If symptoms persist, it may be beneficial to consult a healthcare professional or dermatologist to rule out any underlying conditions.
